State Higher Vocational School in Gniezno
The State Higher Vocational School in Gniezno was established on 1 July 2004 on the basis of the resolution of the Council of Ministers of 22 June 2004 (Journal of Laws No. 150, item 1572).
The school provides the following courses:
- engineer’s degree: IT, Transport, Management and Production Engineering, Environmental Protection, Electronics and Telecommunications,
- bachelor’s degree: Nursing.
The skills obtained in the school allow students to continue studying in Polish and European institutions of higher education.
Graduates of higher schools of technology must be prepared to meet the challenges resulting from continuously evolving science and technology. Therefore, one of the school’s main objectives is to offer students an opportunity to have access to latest technologies and work in modern and professionally-equipped laboratories. The programme of studies is constantly updated and adapted to the requirements of the current job market. Numerous overseas undertakings, which include one-term student exchange and training placements, enable students to build contacts which may lead to finding an interesting job in the future. The school meets the needs of local circles and develops the creativity of future participants of social and economic life.
The State Higher Vocational School in Gniezno, through its expert academic staff, provides education at both theoretical and practical levels.
A vital element of quality vocational education is an incessantly modernized teaching base.
The school features the following specialized laboratories:
- chemical,
- microbiological,
- plastics,
- materials durability,
- electronics and metrology,
- controllers and intelligent systems,
- ergonomics,
- foreign languages,
- diagnostics of means of transport,
- nursing.
Most of the laboratories are located on the premises of the continuously developing academic campus in former barracks in ul. Wrzesińska 43-55.
The following student groups are active in the school:
- Student Government,
- Programming Circle,
- Scientific Circle of Environmental Protection.
One of the school’s priorities is to find partner schools and establish with them long-lasting and fruitful cooperation. As early as in the academic year of 2005/2006 the State Higher Vocational School in Gniezno began to make attempts to obtain the Erasmus Charter.
In June 2007 the European Commission granted the State Higher Vocational School in Gniezno the Extended Erasmus University Charter for the years of 2007-2013, thereby entitling the school to take part in the Lifelong Learning Programme.

Through its participation in the Lifelong Learning Programme, the State Higher Vocational School in Gniezno affords its students an opportunity to get valuable skills and experience which will make them distinguishable in the job market. The Erasmus scholarship programme, whose main objective is student mobility, creates an opportunity to spend one term of studies abroad and/or participate in overseas practical training. Fulfilling the tasks set out in the programme, the school commits itself to providing high quality education at a genuinely European level.
Thanks to bilateral agreements signed within LPP Erasmus programme, students of the State Higher Vocational School in Gniezno may take one-term overseas placements at:
